Home Remedies for Dandruff

by Native www.gooddeedsmall.com
Dandruff is a common condition of the scalp characterized by itching and flaking. Although it is not serious or contagious, it is a source of embarrassment and people with dandruff are generally self conscious, especially when it comes to wearing dark clothing which can make the flakes more conspicuous. Although dandruff can be a very stubborn condition, there are a number of home remedies that can help control and in many cases completely eliminate dandruff.
Dandruff can be caused by vitamin and mineral deficiencies, yeast infections, or as a reaction to certain shampoos and hair products. Two of the most useful remedies for dandruff are coconut oil and apple cider vinegar.
To start treatment, massage approximately a teaspoon of coconut oil on your scalp and leave overnight. Use an old towel to protect bedding from getting oily. In the morning, mix ½ a cup of apple cider vinegar in a recipient with three to four cups of water. After washing and conditioning your hair and having rinsed it thoroughly pour the water and apple cider vinegar mixture over your hair making sure to permeate the scalp completely. Next towel dry your hair and style as usual. The pungent vinegar smell will go away once your hair is dry.
Repeat these steps every other day and you’ll have shiny, dandruff-free locks in no time!
